The Construction of 3 classrooms at the School of Peace and Hope!

In June of 2008 we celebrated the inauguration of three new classrooms at the School of Peace and Hope!  The former three-room schoolhouse has now doubled its size to have one classroom and one teacher for each of its six grade levels.  Every new classroom is equipped with tile floors, a chalkboard, a white board, electrical outlets and fluorescent lighting in the ceiling – all luxuries which are usually reserved only for private educational institutions.  This achievement has made an incredible difference in the quality of education offered to each student, for now each child can receive more one-on-one attention from his or her professor.  The students no longer have to study with 2 to 4 grade levels crowded into one single classroom, but instead receive individualized attention from a professor who teaches to one single grade level.  The construction of these classrooms has been a great success for the entire community of Horacio Zeballos Gamez.  Parents and children alike are extremely proud of the growth of their school and excited about the new educational opportunities it offers.

Future Project Plans

Kindness Connection has been working hard with the local community in Horacio Zeballos Gamez to plan future projects for the continual development of the School of Peace and Hope and the surrounding area.

1. The construction of an entryway, a blacktop area and restrooms.
2. The construction of a trade school in which 6th grade students who have graduated elementary school will no have to work in the brickyards, but instead will enter into our trade school to further their education. The students will spend their time in the school learning various trades and specialized skills as well as furthering their academic education. They will graduate certified in a specialized trade or skill that offers improved job opportunities and wages for them and their families.

The fourth grade is stuying in their new classroom. You can see the tile floors, white board and flourescent lights which are considered to be luxuries for a typical classroom in this area.

The 3 old classrooms plus the library and Principal's Office, all of which have been repainted to match the new classrooms.
